Ken Butler, a longtime NAPAHE member. Ken passed away on Tuesday of this week after a valiant fight against bladder cancer. He served as the Executive Assistant to the President at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and was a member of the NAPAHE Board from 2011-2017.

Ken will be greatly missed at NAPAHE for not only his professional contributions, but also his ability to put people at ease...his openness and good humor being a large part of that. He was tireless proponent of NAPAHE and had a passion for higher education and the role it plays in shaping lives.

Ken joined the Muhlenberg staff in 1993, first serving as Administrative Assistant in the Drama & Speech Department. He was promoted to Administrative Coordinator in the Theatre & Dance Department in 1999. In 2003, Ken became the Executive Assistant to the President. As his responsibilities evolved, the position was re-titled Executive Assistant to the President and the Board of Trustees in 2014.

Ken also served frequently as Musical Director and Conductor for musical theatre productions for the Theatre & Dance Department and Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre.
