Thank You!

On behalf of the National Association of Presidential Assistants in Higher Education (NAPAHE), thank you for reading our correspondence and for stopping by our site. I am truly honored to be part of such this instrumental association charged with supporting President Assistants, Provost Assistants, Chiefs of Staff, and many others, as stewards of the vision and mission of university leadership through effective management and efficient practice.

NAPAHE is unparalleled in providing the framework and serving as a valued information resource to seamlessly meet the high demands of the unique responsibilities of PAs. With more than 1,000 members representing over forty-five states from the U.S., the District of Columbia, and three provinces in Canada, NAPAHE is a tremendous value for you and your institution in these extraordinary times, giving your office access to resources, experience, and colleagues. Colleagues who know the path you're on and can help exponentially increase your impact.

By encouraging your assistant to join NAPAHE, you will enable them to connect with fellow professionals and find resources that will serve them in their unique role. This can make all the difference both in their effectiveness and yours.

We invite you to contact us should you have additional questions, comments, or recommendations regarding future professional development topics.

Hear What Our Members Have to Say

Hello! My name is Crystal Wilson, and I joined NAPAHE almost three years ago when I transitioned from working in Student Affairs to working in the President’s Office. I immediately found my interactions with other NAPAHE members to be incredibly supportive and helpful at a time when I was trying to navigate a new role. I joined the Peer Connections program to meet others, exchange best practices, and learn from leaders in my new field. I was matched with peers from vastly different institutions than my own, but I still found our exchanges incredibly valuable. Even after the program has ended, we still keep in contact and seek each other's advice and support, and we always enjoy reuniting at the conference.

I have been a member of several other professional organizations during my career in higher education and NAPAHE stands out above the rest. NAPAHE has provided a platform for me to exponentially increase my network and I have found that NAPAHE members are eager to share their experience, materials, guidance, and perspective, which has helped me to better understand my job and allow me to grow and improve. NAPAHE is really for anyone who supports a university executive; you will find your people!

Spread the Word

Though NAPAHE's official name has the word Presidential Assistant in it, NAPAHE serves more than just assistants to presidents/chancellors. In fact, NAPAHE serves ANY professional that supports an executive leader in higher education.

Please help spread the word about NAPAHE to those at your institution who might benefit from the resources, support, and connection that our association provides.

“I was lucky enough to be encouraged to join NAPAHE early in my career as a Provost’s Assistant, even though I am not a PA, because my Provost had good experiences with the organization. I have attended every conference since I started in 2013 and have learned so much (with options in every session that interest me). I benefit from great networking and many opportunities for professional development. One of my favorite parts about NAPAHE are the monthly affinity groups by position type (PA, Chief of Staff, and Provost Assistants) where we meet virtually to continue networking and building community. NAPAHE informs my work at Western Washington University and offers me professional development opportunities within the organization itself. I love serving on the Conference Planning Committee and Communications Committee. It is such a valuable organization full of people who understand and support the work we do.”
